And then there was the American Music Awards which I am sad we did not get live this year but was thankfully available on-line. And here the headliners were lovebirds Chris Brown and Rihanna who went home with five trophies. Chris who disappointed local fans who braved getting squashed, almost fainted, destroyed a good pair of shoes and paid a lot of money to watch him live, only to catch him lip-synching, was named Artist of the Year. He also got the Favorite Male Artist award for the Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B categories. Rihanna was the Favorite Female Artist in the same categories.

Rihanna takes two top awards at AMAs

ON A NIGHT that saw her performing her latest single, Rehab, Bajan sensation Rihanna was among the big winners with two awards at the 2008 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Sunday night.
The 20-year-old Barbados cultural ambassador and Grammy Award winner in February this year won the awards for Favourite Female Artist in the Soul/R&B category as well as Favourite Female Artist (Pop/Rock).

The Barbadian singer, model and fashion designer has climbed up the searches. She has a new deal with Gucci that shows off her generous side. Twenty-five percent of sales from the Gucci Tattoo Heart line will be donated to UNICEF. This lady is not only beautiful, but a class act.

The question for R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress Beyonce is, will she appear at Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in January?

Kim Kardashian

First Britney, now Kim. But in a good way. Kim will be guest starring on an episode of "How I Met Your Mother".

She is a singer, actor, songwriter and the oldest member of the singing group The Cheetah Girls. She was also in a band called 3LW with fellow Cheetah Girl Kiely Williams.
Adrienne is of Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian desent.
She is best known for her role as Chanel in The Cheetah Girls movie and its sequels.
Adrienne is dating Rob Kardashian of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" fame.
And now she has joined the list of Disney stars that have caused the studio some embarrassment.

Mandy Moore Surfaces!

Mandy Moore was very popular not too long ago.
She had several hits, A Walk to Remember, American Dreamz, I loved her in Saved! and how cool was she in Scrubs? (That's so funny!)
But she seems to have almost vanished.
Well now she seems to be showing up a little more ( no that's not a bad pun) and has resurfaced in the news in connection with her ex, now current again boyfriend DJ AM.

US Weekly exclusively reports in its newest issue, already on newsstands, that Mandy Moore and DJ AM rekindle their old flame. "It's back on," a DJ AM source tells the publication.
Moore and AM dated for two months in 2007. The actress-singer was snapped visiting him during his hospital stay in the wake of the plane crash that he experienced with fellow musician Travis Barker late last month in Columbia, South Carolina.

Had she not passed away in the plane crash, she would have also satrred in Honey (2003, recast to Jessica Alba), The Matrix Reloaded/The Matrix Revolutions (2003 recast to Nona Gaye) and State Property 2 (2005, recast to Mariah Carey).
In music, she also had 10 Top 25 hit singles on the Billboard charts.
The single "Try Again" became the first song in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 only by airplay.
There are currently plans for a movie based on her life.
