The Beautiful Women of The Cape

As much as I like superhero TV shows and movies, I wish I had better news about this one.
The NBC series The Cape is probably on it's last legs.
NBC cut the number of episodes to be aired from thirteen to ten as a result of low ratings, so that's probably the shows death knell.
However you can still check out episodes on Hulu if you want to see what the show is about.
Oh yeah, the reason I'm even talking about this....
The Cape may be low on ratings, but it's high on beautiful women.
Starting with....

Summer Glau as Orwell
Of course if you like Sci Fi at all (and even if you dont really) you know who Summer Glau is.
Summer was on one of my favorite TV shows ever Firefly (and the subsequent Serenity) and was also on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (which I think may have gotten better in the season it didnt get). She even showed up on Dollhouse.
After three failures I was really hoping The Cape would do well for Summer.
On The Cape, Summer plays The Cape's sidekick (kinda) Orwell who's an investigative blogger that's declared war on the crimelord of Palm City, Chess.

Jennifer Ferrin as Dana Thompson-Faraday
Next up is the beautiful Jennifer Ferrin as Dana Thompson-Faraday.
Kinda like Summer, Jennifer hasnt had the best of luck with TV shows.
She played played Detective Sam Tyler's mother in the US version of Life On Mars.
But she has done better on daytime TV, getting two Emmy nominations for her role of Jennifer Munson Kasnoff Donovan on As the World Turns.
On The Cape, she plays The Cape's (Vince Faraday) wife who works in the public defender's office.

Izabella Miko as Raia
Someone that doesnt get a lot of screen time is Izabella Miko as Raia.
This Polish-born actress, dancer (like Summer she is trained in Ballet) and environmentalist appeared on three episodes of Deadwood, and made her acting debut in 2004's Coyote Ugly.
On the Cape Raia is the acrobat in Max Malini's circus and the "Carnival of Crime".

Janet Montgomery - Ames - Human Target

In the last entry, we did Indira Varma as Ilsa Pucci, one of the new ladies on Fox's Human Target.
This time we have Janet Montgomery as Ames.
Ames is a thief, who is supposed to be able to blend into any situation.
But it seems like a lot of the time, that blending in consists of stripping down to her underwear.
Though I haven't heard a lot of male fans complaining about that.
Ames' character is known to Winston, who evidently had a run in or two with her from his days on the police force.

The lovely lady that plays Ames is English film and TV actress Janet Montgomery.
Janet was born on October 29th, 1985 in Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.
Which puts her in the category of actors and actresses that I never dreamed of having an accent like Hugh Laurie (when I first saw House I had no idea he was British), Damian Lewis (Life) Jamie Bamber (Lee Adama on Battlestar Galactica) and Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse on True Blood).
Yes I was born and raised in the US and had no idea any of them were "foreigners".
Anyway, Janet has appeared in the TV series Entourage and the films The Hills Run Red, Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead and Black Swan among others.

Indira Varma - Ilsa Pucci - Human Target

One of my "guilty pleasures" is Fox's Human Target.
Last year I did a write up on the women of Human Target, but in the second season of the show, they have added some ladies to the mix permanently.
Adding the female element (along with changing the theme song and losing Bear McCreary) has put some of the fans off, and I can see their point to a certain extent, but I still like the show as much as ever.

First up we have the beautiful Indira Varma as Ilsa Pucci.
Ilsa is a very sophisticated, widowed billionaire who becomes a benefactor to Chance and his crew.
She joined the show in the second season premiere titled (appropriately enough) "Ilsa Pucci".
Ilsa is Chance's boss or partner, depending on who you ask and whats going on at the time.

The lady that plays Ilsa is Indira Varma.
Indira was born in 1973 in Bath, Somerset, England, UK to an Indian father and Swiss (and part Genoese Italian) mother.
She made her acting debut in the 1996 film Clancy's Kitchen and has gone on to appear in almost forty TV shows and films.

Besides TV and film, she also does quite a bit of theater.

Julie Bowen - Claire Dunphy - Modern Family

The next lady from the ABC sitcom Modern Family is Claire Dunphy (Pritchett) played by Julie Bowen.
Claire was evidently pretty wild in her younger days, so maybe that's why she is so overprotective of her three kids, especially Haley (played by Sarah Hyland).

The lady that plays Claire, Julie Bowen, was born March 3rd, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Julie started acting in college at Brown University and she had roles in Guys and Dolls, Stage Door, and Lemon Sky.
Before graduating, she starred in the independent film Five Spot Jewel.
In 1992 she appeared on the ABC soap opera Loving and went on to appear in TV shows and TV movies like Lifestories: Families in Crisis, Class of '96, Acapulco H.E.A.T., Runaway Daughters, Where Are My Children? and Extreme.

In 1996 she appeared in the films Confessions of a Sleep Addict, Happy Gilmore (as Virginia Venit, the Public Relations Director for the PGA Tour and Happy's love interest) and Multiplicity (with Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell).

These roles were followed by more TV appearances like Party of Five, ER, Dawson's Creek, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Monk, Lost, Boston Legal and she even did the voice of Aresia in the Justice League animated series.

But of course Modern Family is where she has gotten her most acclaim.
(Although she did rack up three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for her role as Denise Bauer on Boston Legal.)
For her role as Claire, she has been nominated for an Emmy Award (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series), nominated for a Satellite Award (Best Actress in a Series, Comedy or Musical) and nominated again for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
And that's not counting the rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

Rebecca Hazlewood - Asha - Outsourced

Today we have a beautiful young lady that is on a TV show that takes a lot of heat online.
Outsourced is a NBC sitcom that is set in an Indian workplace.
That alone isn't bad, but the idea that the workplace is an India call center, where an American novelties company has outsourced its order processing rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

The show itself is based on the 2006 film of the same name directed by John Jeffcoat.
The film won a ton of awards when it came out, so maybe NBC was hoping for the same with the TV show.
Despite a great deal of seeming internet hate, NBC has gone ahead and ordered a full season for the show.

Anyway, the beautiful woman I mention earlier is Rebecca Hazlewood who plays Asha.
Rebecca was born in 1977 in the UK, and is of Punjabi Sikh Indian descent.
She's done quite a bit of TV work in England, appearing in the British television shows Crossroads, Bad Girls, Second Sight and Doctors.

If you look hard enough, you may have caught her here in the US on ER, (as Jaspreet, Neela's cousin from London) and Nalini, (an Ajira Airways ticket agent) in Lost.

Gillian Jacobs and Alison Brie - Community

I just started watching the NBC sitcom "Community" a few weeks ago and oddly enough, I'm watching the new episodes AND going back to catch up on old ones.

Of course if you watch the show, you are familiar with two of the most beautiful women on TV, Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs) and Annie Edison (Alison Brie).

Gillian Jacobs was born in 1982 just a few miles up the road from me in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and moved to New York City, New York in 2000to study acting at The Juilliard School.
On TV she has appeared on shows like The Book of Daniel, she appeared in the first season of Fringe as Joanne Ostlet in the episode "The Equation", "Law & Order: Criminal Intent", "Royal Pains" and "The Good Wife".
Gillian has also appeared in eleven films, her latest being Helena from the Wedding with Dagmara Dominczyk and Melanie Lynskey.

Alison Brie was born on December 29th, 1983, Pasadena, California, so in real life, Annie is only a year younger than Britta.
Alison (like Annie) is Jewish and started acting in the Jewish Community Center in Southern California.
She graduated with a bachelor's in theater from the California Institute of the Arts with a bachelor's in theater and performed in theatre in California.
She has appeared on "Hannah Montana", "My Alibi" and "Mad Men" amomg other shows.
Alison will also be in the Indy film Montana Amazon with Olympia Dukakis, Haley Joel Osment and Haley Pullos.

The Beautiful Women of The Gates

The ABC summer series The Gates is wrapping up this Sunday, so before it goes the way of all the other shows ABC seems to just love to cancel, lets take a look at the beautiful women of The Gates with Vampires and Werewolves and Witches...oh my....

First up of course is Rhona Mitra as vampire Claire Radcliff.
She's first because I am terribly biased.
Claire is the wife of Dylan Radcliff (Luke Mably).

Next up we have Marisol Nichols as Sarah Monohan, a human and the wife of Chief of Police, Nick Monohan (Frank Grillo).

Then Chandra West as Devon, a Bad Witch and the series "big bad" in a manner of speaking.

The exotic looking Janina Gavankar as Leigh Turner, an officer working in the Gates who may or may not be some kind of zombie....kinda.

Victoria Gabrielle Platt as Good Witch and doctor Peg Mueller.

Gloria Votsis as the wife of Gates owner Vanessa Buckley. Vanessa also happens to be a vampire.

Andrea Powell as Karen Crezski, the female leader of the werewolves.

Alessandra Torresani Updates

Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox seem to grab all the attention in the main stream media, but they had better watch their backs.
Alessandra Torresani seems to be staging her own very subtle coup.
Though how subtle her "Lollipop" video is, is open to debate.
This lovely 23 year old (who stars on Caprica as Zoe Graystone, who becomes the first Cylon) has already appeared in FHM and Maxim.
She was almost in the 2009 biopic The Runaways (with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart) but lost out to Scout Taylor-Compton.
Alessandra also came in ninth on UGO's list of Top 50 Sci-Fi Women of 2010, and she won Entertainment Weekly's 12 Sci-Fi Hotties of 2010 by a virtual landslide.

When Caprica comes back in January 2011 for the second half of the first season, you can expect to see a "lot more Zoes".
Evidently Alessandra gets to expand and play more versions of her virtual reality self.
But, there is still no word on a season two.

More Leah Remini

I was really surprised to see that the most popular woman on this blog last month was Leah Remini.
Yes, Carrie Heffernan from The King of Queens.
Leah has had a very busy career since her TV acting debut in 1988 on Head of the Class, appearing in almost forty TV shows and movies.
Her next project is ABC's "It Takes A Village" alongside Haley King, James Patrick Stuart, Cheyenne Jackson and Zach Mills.

There is also a rumor that she may appear on a TV show similar to "The View" with Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen and Holly Robinson Peete.

Of course a lot of Leah's popularity comes from some photo shoots she did a few years ago for magazines like Stuff....

You know, in some of these pictures, doesn't she resemble former WWE Diva Candice Michelle?

The Beautiful Women of Leverage

Another one of my favorite TV shows is the TNT drama Leverage.
And since Leverage just had it's third season premier, I thought it would be a good time to look at the beautiful women of the show.

Of course Leverage has an extremely talented cast with Timothy Hutton, Christian Kane and Aldis Hodge as the male leads.
But like I said since the name of the blog is the most beautiful women, lets look at the female leads.

First we have Gina Bellman as Sophie Devereaux.
Well it's not really Sophie Devereaux, but that's all we know as of now.
Sophie has a collection of aliases, and Sophie is all that the audience (and Nate) know right now.
She is a highly skilled grifter (con artist) that specializes in art theft.
Sophie is played by Gina Bellman, who I first noticed in the amazing BBC One drama Jekyll as Claire Jackman.
But I guess people in the UK know her better as Jane in the sitcom Coupling.

It's hard to have a favorite character on Leverage because everyone is so good.
But you have to admit, as good as everyone is Beth Riesgraf as Parker does kinda stand out.
Parker is a thief, cat-burglar, pickpocket and safe-cracker, with a great deal of rappelling and possibly Parkour skills thrown in as well.
And she's crazy.
Before Leverage, Beth appeared in the films Nobody, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Struck.
On TV she appeared on How I Met Your Mother, My Name Is Earl (she was engaged to Jason Lee together they have a son named Pilot Inspektor), Undressed, Insatiable and Without a Trace.

The Beautiful Women of Smallville - Part 2

Here we go with the second part of my "Beautiful Women of Smallville".
Last time we covered the major characters, so this time we'll look at the ladies that had re-occurring roles.
Starting with....

Jane Seymour as Genevieve Teague
English actress, author, former Bond girl and Officer of the Order of the British Empire, Jane Seymour played Genevieve Teague in season four of Smallville.
Genevieve Teague was the mother of Jason Teague (played by Supernatural's Jensen Ackles), a member of the Veritas Society and she would up getting killed by Lana.

Kelly Brook as Victoria Hardwick
Victoria Hardwick was Lex Luthor's lover and the daughter of a formerly powerful businessman named Sir Harry Hardwick.
She maneuvered herself into Lex's life to try to take over LuthorCorp.
Victoria only showed up in four episodes of the first season of Smallville back in 2001-2002.
The lady that played Victoria was English model, actress, swimwear designer and television presenter, Kelly Brook.

Sharon Taylor as Faora
Before showing up on Smallville, Canadian actress Sharon Taylor was best known as Amelia Banks on Stargate Atlantis.
On Smallville, she played Faora, a Kryptonian soldier, the sister of Vala, the second wife of General Zod, and the mother of Doomsday.

Denise Quiñones as Andrea Rojas/Angel of Vengeance
The actress that brought the Smallville version of Acrata (Andrea Rojas) to life was Puerto Rican actress and former Miss Universe Denise Quiñones.
She appeared in "Vengeance" and then in the Vengeance Chronicles webisodes.

Alaina Huffman as Dinah Lance/Black Canary
Dinah Lance/Black Canary was kinda brought to life before in the WB series Birds of Prey, though she was called Carolyn Lance.
On Smallville, Black Canary is played by another actress with ties to the Stargate franchise, Alaina Huffman.

Crystal Lowe as Vala
It looks like with this many old and current Stargate actors running around on Smallville, you wouldn't just name a character on the show the same as one on Stargate.
But here we have Canadian model and actress as Vala,the sister of Faora.

Sarah Carter as Alicia Baker
I think a lot of fans out there kinda wish Clark had stayed with Alicia Baker for a while.
Despite her tendencies toward sociopathic behavior, they made a cute couple.

Emmanuelle Vaugier as Dr. Helen Bryce
Dr. Helen Bryce was a physician at the Smallville Medical Center ER, and you know how busy (and weird) that place is.
There she not only got to meet and treat Jonathan, Martha, and Clark Kent, but Lex Luthor as well.
The last meeting would eventually lead to her undoing as she married Lex, then promptly disappeared.
The beautiful Emmanuelle Vaugier played Helen for nine episodes.

Rekha Sharma as Dr. Harden
If you watch science fiction shows on TV at all, you have seen Rekha Sharma.
She's appeared on The Lone Gunmen, Supernatural, John Doe, Dark Angel, The Twilight Zone, V and Battlestar Galactica.
And from 2002-2006, she appeared on seven episodes of Smallville as Dr. Harden, also a doctor in the ER at Smallville Medical Center.

The Beautiful Women of Smallville, Part 1

I have done write ups on Erica Durance and Kristin Kreuk before, but let's do an update on the beautiful women of Smallville, since this year I have been watching the show with renewed interest.
Okay, a lot of that renewed interest came from the Absolute Justice episode, but still...
And going back through the series, they have had a LOT of lovely women on the show.

Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang
Canadian actress Kristin Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She started out with Smallville from the get go as Lana Lang in the pilot episode, and was in 158 episodes from 2001 to 2009.
When last we saw Lana, she was powered up to Kryptonian level, and she left Smallville.
This makes me wonder why Chole hasn't issued a distress call for her to help handle the rogue Kandorians, since Lana is powered by Kryptonite now.

Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan
Allison Mack was born on July 29, 1982 in Preetz, Germany.
Like Kristin Kreuk, she started out in the pilot.
Besides Smallville she has a couple of other DC Universe connections.
In the WB's animated series The Batman (not the classic series) she did the voice of a museum curator named Clea.
And in the direct-to-video animated film Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, she did the voice of Power Girl.

Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent
Annette O'Toole was born on April 1, 1952 in Houston, Texas.
Like Allison and Kristin, she first appeared in the pilot.
Of course she has one big connection to the DC Universe outside Smallville, she played Lana Lang in Superman III.

Erica Durance as Lois Lane
Erica Durance was born on June 21, 1978, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Erica first appeared as Lois in the season four premiere, Crusade.
She has appeared on FHM's World's 100 Sexiest Women list several times, coming in at 14 in 2009.

Laura Vandervoort as Kara
Laura Vandervoort was born on September 22, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Although she is now a reptilian invader on V, she was once the young lady that would become Supergirl.

Cassidy Freeman as Tess Mercer
Cassidy Freeman was born on April 22, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois.
Although there is no Tess Mercer in the comics, the name is a combination of Eve Teschmacher (from the Richard Donner Superman movies) and Mercy Graves (from the DC animated Superman series and the comics.)

Of course there are way more semi regulars and guest appearances...
But that will be in the next entry.

The Beautiful Women of Stargate Universe

Stargate Universe is, of course, part of the successful Stargate series.
Though it may be pretty different from Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, it's popular enough that its been renewed for a second season.
And though other Stargate shows have had beautiful women on them, this one has a few more than the other shows have had.

First up, we have the stunning Elyse Levesque as Chloe Armstrong.
Chloe is the 23 year old daughter of a US Senator who gets stuck on the Ancient ship known as Destiny in the first episode.
Okay, they all get stuck on Destiny in the first episode...
The lovely lady that plays Chloe is Canadian film and television actress Elyse Levesque.
Elyse was born on September 10, 1985 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Besides SGU, she has appeared on Smallville, Flash Gordon and Unthinkable among other television shows and movies.

Next we have Alaina Huffman as First Lieutenant Tamara Johansen.
Tamara (or TJ) is a US Air Force medic that gets stuck on Destiny.
She is played by another Canadian film and television actress, Alaina Huffman.
Alaina was born on April 17, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
She too has appeared in a lot of TV shows and films like Dawson's Creek, Tru Calling, Painkiller Jane and The O.C.
But, you may know her from her appearances on Smallville as Dinah Lance/Black Canary.
So that's two actresses on SGU that have been on Smallville.

Then we have Julia Benson as Second Lieutenant Vanessa James.
Second Lieutenant James has picked up quite an internet following because of her obvious...assets.
But to SGU's credit, they downplay that, where other shows would capitalize on it.
She is played by yet another Canadian actress, Julia Benson.
Julia was born in 1979 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Like the other actresses, she has done several TV shows including guest starring on Stargate Atlantis.
She also appeared on Tru Calling (like Alaina), Smallville (like Elyse and Alaina both) and Masters of Horror (like Elyse).

Last we have Ming-Na as IOA member Camile Wray.
Camile was an IOA accountant that got stuck on Destiny, and became their intelligence liaison.
The lady that plays her is the beautiful Ming-Na who was born on November 20, 1963 in Coloane Island, Macau (not Canada).
I have liked Ming since she was on the little know sitcom, The Single Guy, back in the mid ninties.
Like the other actresses on SGU, Ming has a decent Sci Fi / Fantasy background.
She played Chun Li in Street Fighter (1994), she did the voice of Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998), she did the voice of Dr. Aki Ross in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001), and she was Emily Hu in Push (2009).

The Beautiful Women of Human Target

Yes I know that Human Target is a show about three guys, Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), Winston (Chi McBride) and Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley) that help the helpless.
But even though the show has it's triad of manliness, it also has some of the most beautiful women in the world as guest stars.

Starting off in the pilot (which I guess counts as the first episode), we had Battlestar Galactica star Tricia Helfer as Stephanie Dobbs, the designer of a Californian bullet train.

Then in the second episode, "Rewind" we had Courtney Ford and Ali Liebert.

In episode three, "Embassy Row" we had the always beautiful Emmanuelle Vaugier as FBI agent Emma Barnes (who would show up again later).

In episode four, "Sanctuary", we had Sarah Smyth as Emily.

Episode five was "Run", and in it, we had Kristin Lehman as District Attorney Allyson Russo.

In episode six, "Lockdown", we had Autumn Reeser as Layla, who had "geek-hot" down perfect, and would also show up in a later episode.

"Salvage & Reclamation" was episode seven, and in it we had the incredibly hot Leonor Varela as Maria Gallego.

Episode eight was "Baptiste", and it featured the return of Emmanuelle Vaugier as FBI agent Barnes and the return of Autumn Reeser as Layla.

In episode nine, "Corner Man", we had another BSG alumni show up, Grace Park as Eva Khan.

Erisode ten was "Tanarak", and in it, we had Moon Bloodgood as Dr. Jessica Shaw.

In episode ten, "Victoria" we have Christina Cole as Victoria.

Eight of the Most Beautiful Canadian Actresses

One of Canada's greatest exports is beautiful women.
And here are eight of the most beautiful.
Now I know this is nowhere close to all of them, so don't start sending angry e-mails, I'll get to the rest later.

Rachel Blanchard
Rachel Blanchard was born on March 19, 1976 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Although she had done some commercials before, Rachel really made her acting debut in the Canadian children's TV show, The Kids of Degrassi Street in 1985.
She has gone on to appear in over forty TV shows and movies.

Erica Durance
Smallville's Lois Lane, Erica Durance, was born on June 21, 1978 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
She made her acting debut in the 2002 adventure horror film, The Untold (or Sasquatch) as Erica Parker.
Besides Smallville, she has appeared on Stargate SG-1, Tru Calling and Andromeda.

Alessandra Torresani - Zoe Graystone - Caprica

Before Caprica started, I wasn't very impressed with the previews.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVED Battlestar Galactica, but this new series looked to calm and sedate.
But after watching the pilot and about the first two episodes, I was hooked.
Yeah there's a lot of The Matrix and Terminator in there, but Remi Aubuchon, Ronald D. Moore and David Eick have managed to craft a world that looks kinda like ours, but with enough differences to keep me wondering.
Really, I think Caprica is good solid science fiction.
And of course, like any good sci fi, Caprica has some beautiful women.
Starting with.....

Alessandra Torresani as Zoe Graystone.
The first time I saw Zoe Graystone I thought " When the actress that plays her grows up...she's gonna be a knockout".
I guess that shows how well Alessandra Torresani plays her role, because while Zoe is 16, Alessandra is 22.

Alessandra was born on May 29, 1987 in Palo Alto, California.
She started studying dancing and singing at the age of two, ad got her first job doing interviews on the WB at the age of eight.
She's beautiful, talented, smart and she has a black belt in taekwondo.
And on Caprica, she's the first Cylon.
Talk about beautiful and deadly......

Before she became the first Cylon, she had a LOT of TV roles.
She started out on the animation anthology series KaBlam!, as show that also featured Mischa Barton, back in 1996.
Alessandra went from there to ER, a couple of episodes of Malcom in the Middle, JAG, Arrested Development and Grounded for Life among many others.
She even showed up on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but she wasn't a Terminator.

So there you have it, Alessandra Torresani as Zoe Graystone, the first in a line of sexy Cylons, continuing on with the legacy started by Tricia Helfer as Number Six, Grace Park as Number Eight and Lucy Lawless as Number Three.

Okay, they were actually second since Caprica takes place before Battlestar Galactica, but Galactica aired first so...

Sitara Hewitt - Rayyan Hamoudi - Little Mosque on the Prairie

I like Little Mosque on the Prairie.
In case you have never heard of it LMOTP is a Canadian sitcom on CBC Television.
When I first heard about it, I expected to see some controversial, heavily political show.
What I saw was basically a good clean sitcom that could have been around in the 60s here in the US.
I say the 60s, because LMOTP doesn't have foul language, innuendos, it's just funny.
And it has one of the most beautiful women on TV...Rayyan Hamoudi played by Sitara Hewitt.

Rayyan is an Islamic feminist and wears the sartorial hijab.
So except for her beautiful face, you dont see a lot of Sitara.
Well Sitara's body at least.

Sitara was born on December 27, 1981 in Elora, Ontario, Canada.
Her parents are both academics and she has been all over the world, including spending time in the Himalayan mountains as a child.
She made her acting debut in the 2002 film "Bollywood/Hollywood" as a dancer.
In 2006, she actually tried out for the WWE to become a wrestler.

Tabrett Bethell - Cara - Legend of the Seeker

I have to mention one of the hottest women on the small screen (IMHO) today, Tabrett Bethell as Cara on Legend of the Seeker (which is based on The Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind).
Cara has the potential of being one of the great good girls/bad girls of TV in the same vein as Miss Parker on The Pretender.
Hey, roles like that don't come around every day!

Cara is/was a Mord'Sith that first showed up at the end of season one of Legend of the Seeker.
She was was personally recruited by Darken Rahl to take out the Seeker, but through a chain of events, wound up helping Richard take out Darken Rahl.
But you can't keep a bad guy down (literally) and even from the Underworld, he commanded the rest of the Mord'Sith to kill Cara.
They came close, beating her and leaving her for dead (they forgot an important villain rule here...NEVER "leave" anyone for dead!)
Richard found Cara, they nursed her back to health and she joined him, Kahlan and Zedd.

Cara is a great character because even though she's on the good guys side now, she still has that Mord'Sith attitude.
If you watch, you actually see her smile sometimes in battle, and if she thinks she'll get the chance to injure or kill someone.

Of course Cara and Kahlan are opposites and that makes her scenes with her even that much better.

And now Richard has to traipse around with the gorgeous Kahlen and the hot Cara with him.
Poor guy.

The lady that plays Cara is Australian film, television and theater actress Tabrett Bethell.
She was born in 1982 in Australia and was a model and a cheerleader for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks National Rugby League team.
Tabrett has several more project in the works besides Legend of the Seeker.
She'll be appearing in horror/thriller The Clinic, the romance Anyone You Want and and the drama/thriller Strangers Lovers Killers.

The Beautiful Women of Gary Unmarried

Another one of my "guilty pleasure" TV shows is the CBS comedy "Gary Unmarried".
I ran across it being basically just bored one night, and wanting to find something new to watch.
After watching the pilot, I was hooked and proceeded to watch all the episodes I missed and caught up to the current season.
Of course beautiful women on TV sit-coms have added pressure that most TV actresses don't.
They have to be able to act AND be funny.
So here are the beautiful women of "Gary Unmarried".

First up, Paula Marshall that plays Allison Brooks, Gary's ex-wife.
Paula was born on June 12, 1964 in Rockville, Maryland.
Her acting debut was on "True Blue" (starring in Eddie Velez) in 1989.
Unfortunately, up until Gary, Paula hadn't had a lot of luck with TV series, appearing in six shows that were all canceled in less than one season.
But she worked through that, landing roles on TV series like "Californication", "Shark" , "Nip/Tuck" and "Veronica Mars".

Brooke D'Orsay was introduced in the second season as the manager of a radio station (Sasha) that first Gary painted, then got a job at.
Brooke was born on February 17, 1982 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Although Brooke has done a lot of TV work (and some voice work like "Braceface") you may remember her from showing up a lot on CBS' comedy line up.
She appeared on "Two and a Half Men" in 2007 in the episode "Young People Have Phlegm Too" as Robin, then "The Big Bang Theory" that same year as Christy in the episode "The Dumpling Paradox" and finally on "How I Met Your Mother" in 2009 in the episode "The Stinsons" as Margaret.

Daniela Ruah - Kensi Blye - NCIS Los Angeles

It's no secret that one of my favorite TV shows is NCIS.
So when NCIS: Los Angeles came out, I was all over it.
It took a couple of episodes, but the show very quickly grew on me.
And of course since this blog is about beautiful women, and I'm talking about NCIS: Los Angeles, I have to mention OSP Junior Field Agent Kensi Blye as played by the lovely Daniela Ruah.
Daniela really isnt just lovely, she has something about her that pushes her past just another pretty face.
She was born on December 2, 1983 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Daniela is Portuguese/American, and actually started her acting career in Portugal at the age of sixteen.
At the age of eighteen she moved to London, England and enrolled at the London Metropolitan University, studying Performing Arts.
After that, she went back to Portugal, and did some television series, short films and theatre.
Then Daniela went to New York and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Besides NCIS: Los Angeles, she will be appearing in the film Red Tails, about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II.

And in case you wondered, Daniela has a birthmark in her right eye that makes it look like she has two different colored eyes, one hazel and one black.

The Beautiful Women of Eastwick

Moving into the most beautiful women of the new TV season, the first stop has to be ABC's Eastwick.
The series is based on the 1984 novel by John Updike and of course the 1987 film adaptation of the novel that starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
There was also a musical produced in 2000.

Eastwick (to me at least) feels almost like a sequel to the film although really it's not.
I think it may have been better if they actually played it as a sequel, but it's a bit late for that now...LOL

The show itself feels like a bit of Desperate Housewives, Gilmore Girls, Charmed and the original film all mixed up together.
It gets mixed reviews, but I like it.
But I like it in the " this has potential it they keep going" way, kinda like Dollhouse.

The first beautiful woman on the show is Rebecca Romijn as Roxanne Torcoletti.
Roxanne kinda parallels Cher's character Alexandra Medford in the original film.
Rebecca was Mystique in the X-Men movies, Alexis Meade on Ugly Betty and had her own show in 2006, Pepper Dennis.

Next up we have Lindsay Price as Joanna Frankel.
Joanna is based on Susan Sarandon's character Jane Spofford in the original film.
Lindsay has appeared on Lipstick Jungle, All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Beverly Hills 90210.
And for some reason I always confuse her with CSI's Liz Vassey.
Lindsay previously appeared with Rebecca in Pepper Dennis.

The gorgeous Jaime Ray Newman is Kat Gardener.
Kat is loosely based on Michelle Pfeiffer as Sukie Ridgemont in the original movie.
Of course I have already done one write up on Jaime because of her role on SyFy's Eureka.

And I have to mention Sara Rue as Joanna's BFF Penny Higgins because her loyal internet followers would lynch me if I didn't...LOL
If you haven't been watching TV for awhile, you may only remember Sara as Stephanie, Leonard's girlfriend on The Big Bang Theory.
But she also has appeared on Less Than Perfect, Will & Grace and Two and a Half Men.

Meghan Markle - Amy Jessup - Fringe

I did a write up on FBI agent Olivia Dunham and Astrid (Astrix, Astral..LOL) on the TV show Fringe awhile back, but there is another lady that has joined the cast (as a secondary character) in the first episode of season two, and that is FBI agent Amy Jessup, played by Meghan Markle.
Of course right now Amy's motives are murky (as are most of the characters on Fringe) and it remains to be seen just where they are going with her.
(Right now I'm still mad about what they did to Charlie ...but hey)

Amy seems to be more open to the Fringe events, but it's hinted at that this comes from a religious stand point.

The young lady that plays Amy is Meghan Markle.
Megan is a fashion model, spokesmodel, and actress.
She was born on August 4th, 1981 in Los Angeles, California.
You may remember seeing Megan in several shows.
General Hospital, CSI: NY, 90210, Knight Rider and Without a Trace.
She will also be in the films Remember Me (with Robert Pattinson and Pierce Brosnan...what?!?) and Get Him to the Greek (with Russell Brand, Pink, Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera).

And moving on to another of my favorite USA shows, we have Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona Glenanne on "Burn Notice".

I love Fiona, the "trigger happy ex-girlfriend" as Micheal puts it.
Fiona may be tiny (her weight seems to be a source of internet talk) but she will gladly punch, kick, shoot or blow you up if need be.
It's kinda cool to see a 5'3 woman played as a pit bull that you have to pull off the bad guy.
In the first episode Fiona had an Irish accent, then she lost it, but picked it back up for the third season finale.

The actress that plays Fiona is Gabrielle Anwar.
She was born on February 4, 1970 in Laleham, Middlesex, England, to her mother, Shirley, an English actress and her father, Tariq Anwar, an Indian-born award-winning British film producer and editor.
Gabrielle has appeared in a lot of TV series and movies including The Tudors, John Doe, Scent of a Woman, The Three Musketeers and Body Snatchers.

And she will be appearing in the 2009 films Nuclear Family as Nina and Warrior as Claire Sullivan .

Mary McCormack-Mary Shannon-In Plain Sight

And now we move on to another of my favorite shows, USA's "In Plain Sight".

On the show, Mary McCormack plays Mary Shannon, a Deputy United States Marshal at the Albuquerque, NM, office of the Federal Witness Security Program (WITSEC or the Federal Witness Protection Program).
Mary is assisted by her partner Marshall Mann (played by the awesome Fred Weller) as she tries to help people and familys in the Witness Protection Program.
Of course Mary's family gives her enough trouble and they really do put the "fun" in dysfunctional.
Mary is brash, sometimes overbearing and a big nonconformist, but she is fiercley loyal to her friends, family and those she protects.

The lady that plays Mary is Mary McCormack.
Mary appeared on the television series The West Wing as Deputy National Security Advisor Kate Harper.
And Mary has not only been involved in TV, but movies and theater as well.
In 2008, she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for the role of Gretchen in the Broadway revival of Boeing Boeing.

Mary also appeared in a cross-over when her character Mary Shannon appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in the episode "Contract".

Allison Scagliotti-Claudia Donovan-Warehouse 13

Claudia Donovan (played by Allison Scagliotti), first appeared in episode 4 of Warehouse 13.
She kidnapped Artie to get him to help bring back her brother that was caught in between dimensions.
Kidnapping Artie was the start of a beautiful relationship.
Even though Artie and Claudia snipe at each other, Claudia seems to really want Artie's respect and praise.

Allison Scagliotti, who plays Claudia has appeared on Drake & Josh as Mindy Crenshaw, Zoey 101, One Tree Hill, and CSI.
And Allison will be joining the cast of Smallville this year as "Jayna".

Yes Jayna...."Wonder Twin powers, activate!"
Zan will be played by David Gallagher
Let's see how she pulls that off.

Joanne Kelly / Myka Bering / Warehouse 13

Another one of my "guilty pleasures" I suppose you could call it is SyFy's (I still hate that name) Warehouse 13.
To get a feel for Warehouse 13, think The X-Files, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Moonlighting and Bones all rolled into one.
And if you remember the old Friday the 13th: The Series that was on in the late 80s, a bit of that too.

I have to take a moment and geek out over the fact that Saul Rubinek gets a starring role in the series as Secret Service Agent Arthur "Artie" Nielsen.
And also a small geek out that some of their equipment comes really close to "Steampunk".

Now that that's over, lets get on to Myka Bering played by Joanne Kelly.
Myka Bering is the by the book partner of Peter Lattimer and together they are the Mulder and Scully of the show.
Okay, they haven't reached Mulder and Scully level yet, but I'm willing to give them time.

Myka is played by Canadian actress Joanne Kelly.
Joanne is no newcomer to the Syfy channel as she played the vampire Bianca in SciFi's The Dresden Files.
Back when it was SciFi.
(Sorry)
Besides that role, Joanne has a long list of movie and TV appearances including Mutant X, Supernatural and Castle.
Yes I know, I listed the shows I have seen.

Debrah Farentino / Dr. Beverly Barlowe / Eureka

Even though she is no longer on Eureka, I have to mention Dr. Beverly Barlowe played by Debrah Farentino.
Beverly was so hot, that even Vincent (the owner of Cafe Diem) once remarked that he wondered what it'd be like to be with her.
She was the the town psychiatrist, but while she was gaining the confidence of everyone in Eureka, she was following her own secret agenda.
Beverly was working for the Consortium, a conglomerate of business interests that wanted Eureka's scientific break throughs for their own gain.

Beverly was brought to smoldering life by Debrah Farentino, who was a model before becoming an actress.
Debrah has appeared on a ton of TV shows starting in 1982 on the TV series Capitol.
She was last seen on the TV series "Eli Stone" playing Ellen Wethersby.
Although she may show up on Eureka again.
The last time she was seen, Beverly used a teleportation device to get away, so she may still be out there somewhere.....

Jaime Ray Newman / Dr. Tess Fontana / Eureka

A new addition to the Eureka cast is Jaime Ray Newman as Dr. Tess Fontana.
Tess is the new head of the secretive Section 5 and is a old college buddy of Allison Blake.
Tess might just become Jack Carter's new love interest based on how much they snipe at each other.
And Tess seems to be a more than formidable foe for Jack.

The lady that plays Tess is Jaime Ray Newman.
Jamie was born in Farmington Hills, Oakland County, Michigan on April 2, 1978.
You may remember her from General Hospital where she played Kristina Cassadine, or from Veronica Mars and Stargate: Atlantis.
But keep your eyes open for her in Eastwick, a television adaption of the 1987 movie The Witches of Eastwick on ABC premiering September 23, 2009.
Besides acting, Jamie is in the band School Boy Crush that regularly plays in Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Another one of the beautiful women on Eureka is Deputy Josefina "Jo" Lupo played by the lovely Erica Cerra.

Jo is awesome.
One of the best female butt kickers on TV at the moment, and always ready to fight.
She is well versed in hand to hand combat (scoffing at Rangers) and virtually every form of hand held weapon from Glocks and Colts to Eureka's own experimental weaponry.
Jo has a softer side she rarely lets show, and she is deeply loyal to her friends.

The lady behind Jo is Canadian actress Erica Cerra/
Erica was born on Halloween (how cool is that?) 1979.
Besides Eureka she has appeared in Dead Like Me, The Collector, Dead Zone, Blade Trinity, The L Word, Battlestar Galactica, Reaper and she will be playing Hera is the upcoming film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Eureka is a science fiction television series set in a town inhabited almost entirely by geniuses.
It comes on SyFy (Does anyone else hate that new name?) Fridays at 9:00 EST.

Of course even though the town is populated with brilliant scientists, it has some beautiful women as well.
Such as....

Dr. Allison Blake, played by Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
Allison is a Department of Defense agent who acts as the liaison between Eureka and the federal government.
After Dr. Nathan Stark vanishes (I still say he isn't dead) she becomes the director of Global Dynamics.

Dr. Blake is played by the lovely Salli Richardson (who reminds me a lot of Eva Mendes for some reason)
Salli was born on November 23, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. Her father is of Irish ancestry and mother is African-American.
Salli is married to actor Dondre Whitfield who you may remember from The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, and Girlfriends (But I remember him as Terrence Frye on All My Children!)
Before Salli married Dondre, she dated a few people you may have heard of like Matthew McConaughey, Tupac Shakur, and Marlon Wayans.

On TV and in movies she has appeared in Stargate SG-1, The Pretender, Biker Boyz, CSI: Miami, Book of Love and she did the voice of Elisa Maza in the animated series Gargoyles just to name a few.

Bridget Regan / Kahlan Amnell / Legend of the Seeker

Legend of the Seeker is one of my guilty pleasures.
The reason I started watching it is because it's done by Sam Raimi and like just about everything he has ever done.
And I mean way before he did Spider-Man.
I know online a lot of people have a problem with the fact that the TV series has little in common with the books.
But I don't see how anyone could have a problem with Confessor Kahlan Amnell, as played by Bridget Regan.
(Okay, I was desperately looking for a segue there)

Kahlan is beautiful, poised, compassionate and can wield a sword or dagger with the best of them.
And she looks good doing it.

The lady that plays Kahlan is film, television and theater actress Bridget Regan.
Bridget has appeared in the films The Babysitters, Blinders, The Wedding Album and the Sex and the City movie.
On TV she has appeared in New Amsterdam, American Experience, Love Monkey and The Black Donnellys.

Dollhouse

I did an entry (kinda) on Dollhouse when they were doing the "Save the Dollhouse" thing.
Well the show has been renewed and so Joss Whedon has some more time to draw everyone in.
Of course what would the Dollhouse be without the "Dolls"?

First up is Echo, played by Eliza Dushku.
Okay I have been an Eliza fan since she was Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
And of course her role in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as Sissy did NOT hurt any either.
Heck, I even liked Wrong Turn.
But it still blows my mind that this is the same girl that played Dana Tasker, Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter in True Lies.

And next, the beautiful Sierra played by Dichen Lachman.
Her exotic looks come by way of her Australian and Tibetan descent.
I like all of the Dolls so ranking them might be hard, but Sierra just might be number 2 behind Echo.

Dr. Claire Saunders (Whiskey) played by Amy Acker.
I've liked Amy since Angel.
And her transformation from Fred into Illyria there was so cool.
Showing "Claire" as Whiskey in the season finale didnt hurt either.
Now I want to see more of that character.
Hey...it's just one visit to the chair away.....

November played by Miracle Laurie.
If I didnt put November on this list, I think I would be immedaitely flamed by her legion of fans.
I really love the way the fanbase took to her.

Olivia has immaculate acting credits.
She worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and London.
In 1995, she toured the United States in a production of Shakespeare's Richard III starring Ian McKellen.
She kinda teamed up with Ian again in 2006 when she had an uncredited role as Dr. Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: The Last Stand.

The Women of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Well this show that I watched is now gone.
I guess I was too slow doing the entries huh?

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a science fiction television series that aired on Fox, but it's canceled now.
So lets do everything in one fell swoop.

First up, Sarah Conner herself, Lena Headey.
Lena got the role by beating over 300 other actresses.
Not physically, you know, in auditions.
It seems everyone's main problem with the TV Sarah Conner was that she wasn't the lean, muscular, ripped fighting machine that Linda Hamilton was in T2.

Next, Summer Glau as Cameron. I don't think anyone really had a problem with the unknown model Terminator.
Summer of course had a big science fiction fan base going in because of her portrayal of "River" in Firefly.

Leven Rambin as Riley Dawson. I don't know about you, but to me Riley had "doomed" stamped on her forehead when she showed up. For some reason I knew things for her would not go well.

Stephanie Jacobsen as Jesse Flores, the beautiful, deadly and possibly psychotic Australian resistance sailor.

Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver. Yes the liquid metal T-1001 Terminator was also the lead singer of Garbage.
Not on the show mind you, but how cool would that have been?

So with this much beauty on the show, how did it fail?
Yeah I know it had plot holes.
Some of the ones that spring to mind are:
Cameron was a High School Student.
Why didn't she set off the metal detectors in the school?
If you know the Terminators are almost indestructible killing machines, why carry 9mms?
You know, little things like that.
If given time, it might have turned into a really good show.
But Fox doesn't give a lot of time.

Even though she doesn't get a lot of screen time, I would be remiss in not mentioning Liz Lemon's personal assistant, Cerie Xerox.
Xerox?
Anyway, the lovely Cerie is played by Katrina Bowden.
Katrina was born on September 19, 1988, in Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Before joining 30 Rock, she was in an episode of Law and Order: SVU in the episode "Gone" as Dana Simpson.
She was also in Fall Out Boy's music video "Dance, Dance" and she appeared in several commercials.
She is set to star in "The Last Film Festival" with Chris Kattan, JoBeth Williams and Dennis Hopper.

On 30 Rock she started out as a recurring character in the first season, but became a regular cast member in the second season.
Cerie is not really much of a stand alone character, but when blended in with everyone else, she works perfectly.
And of course she has a certain "effect" on the male writers, which Liz has tried with no success to tone down.

Jane Krakowski plays the hilarious Jenna Maroney on NBC's 30 Rock.

Jane was born on October 11th, 1968 in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Her first big break came on the soap opera Search for Tomorrow in 1984 where she was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards in 1986 and 1987.
In 1997, Jane landed the role of Elaine Vassal on the television series Ally McBeal.
There she got a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1999.
In 2006, Jane joined the cast of 30 Rock, where she plays Jenna Maroney.
Besides the shows I already mentioned, she was also in an episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", two episodes of "Everwood", The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas and another soap opera "Another World".

Jane's character on 30 Rock, Jenna Maroney, is not only a stereotypical "dumb blond", but also air headed and self-centered.
That may sound like a bad thing, but Jane makes it very funny.
I think her best scenes are not only with Tina Fey (Liz Lemon) but with Tracy Morgan (Tracy Jordan).
Although alone she doesn't fair too badly, as in the old "The Rural Juror " storyline and the "Sing Them Blues, White Girl: The Jackie Jormp-Jomp Story".
The Janis Joplin-inspired character wasn't only funny, but the storyline gave Wikipedia a good smack as well.

Save The Dollhouse

Let's take a break today from the regular beautiful women I've been profiling here to address another topic.
Save the Dollhouse!

Yes I have watched Dollhouse since the beginning.
Okay, it does have Eliza Dushku in it, and I'll watch just about anything Eliza is in.
And it's written and directed by Joss Whedon, and since I loved Buffy, Angel and Firefly, I watched it for that too.
And yes, at first I wasn't impressed.

BUT, unlike most shows that debut strong and getting weaker story wise, Dollhouse began fairly weak and got stronger as it moved along.
A LOT stronger.
They started throwing plot twists at neck breaking speed.
Some in your face, some subtle.
And minor characters began to really develop.

I think this show needs more time.
Give it another season and Fox might have another Buffy on it's hands.

The next show up is NBC's comedy 30 Rock.
And of course one of the beautiful women on there, is also the lady that created the show, Tina Fey.

Tina was born on May 18, 1970, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
She's a writer, comedian, actress, and producer.
And she has won six Emmys, three Golden Globes, and three SAG Awards.
Tina started out at Second City, went to Saturday Night Live, then left SNL to develop 30 Rock.
Of course 30 Rock is loosely based on her experiences at Saturday Night Live, and on 30 Rock, she plays Liz Lemon who is loosely based on herself.

Besides SNL and 30 Rock, Tina was also wrote and co-starred in Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan's one true hit movie.
Oddly enough, Mean Girls was based on Fey's high school life.
Am I seeing a trend here?

And of course we can't forget Tina and Sarah Palin.
Tina may, or may not, have helped put the nails in the McCain/Palin coffin.

Jaime Pressly / Joy Turner / My Name Is Earl

The next beautiful woman from "My Name Is Earl" is Joy Farrah Darville/Hickey/Turner, played by Jaime Pressly.

Jaime was born on July 30, 1977 in Kinston, North Carolina (my home state).
She spent 11 years studying gymnastics and dancing, and by fourteen she was the spokeswoman for her modeling agency, "International Cover Model Search".
Jaime was legally emancipated from her parents at the age of 15.
In 1997, she starred in the film Poison Ivy: The New Seduction.

Another quirky show from FOX (notice how most of the TV shows I watch I call "quirky"?) is Fringe.
Fringe was set up to be the successor to the X-Files, but I don't think its reached that level.
At least not yet.

Fringe has two beautiful women in the cast and the first one I'm doing here is FBI agent Olivia Dunham played by Anna Torv.
Going back to the X-Files, Olivia makes me think of a young Dana Scully, if Scully hadn't had Fox Mulder to guide her into the world of weird.
Olivia just kinda get thrust into it and has to adapt as she goes.

Olivia is played by Anna Torv.
Anna was born on April 15, 1978 in Melbourne, Australia.
Besides acting on television, Anna has done voice acting and she is a motion capture performer.
And Anna is the face of Nariko in the Playstation 3 game Heavenly Sword.

In a weird case of life imitating art, Anna married her Fringe costar Mark Valley (FBI agent John Scott) in December 2008.

Eventually she wound up with roles in Scrubs (as Kristen Murphy), The Practice (as Lindsay Dole), Ally McBeal (also as Lindsay Dole), Third Watch (as Dr. Natalie Durant), Men in Trees (as Julia Switzer), Party of Five (as Annie Alcott), Picket Fences (as Hannah Mary Beile) and other TV shows.

Kelli's character In Lie to Me is Dr. Foster, is a colleague of Dr. Lightman, and pretty much his "right hand man" as much as anyone can be.
And occasionally his conscience.
She usually works with Eli Loker, (but after this weeks episode I don't know how long that will last).
Dr.Foster seems to have a problem with her husband in her own life that she can't (or won't) see, but everyone else seems to be able to.

Pauley Perrette - Abby Sciuto - NCIS

Okay I have seen Abby Sciuto getting a lot of hate online, but I like her.
I can't really imagine an episode of NCIS without the "perky Goth".

The lady behind the character of Abby is Pauley Perrette.
Pauley was born on March 27, 1969 in (appropriately enough for Abby) New Orleans, Louisiana.
But even though being born in The Big Easy, she has lived in lived in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and Los Angeles.
Besides NCIS, Pauley has appeared on Frasier, The Drew Carey Show, Dawson's Creek, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (not as Abby though) and JAG (as Abby).

Like I said, I love her character on NCIS.
She's one of a rare breed on TV these days.
A really good person.

I like the counterpoint.
Abby, would put people off at first glance with her dark clothes, spikes, music, sleeping in a coffin....
But people that get to know her see that she's compassionate, loyal, protective and honest to a fault.
Even when she has to trick or lie to someone for the greater good, she feels guilty.

Nikki Sanders

Ali Larter has appeared on the television series Heroes as not one, but two different characters.
Well almost three.
Ali started out as Nicole "Niki" Sanders and "Jessica".
And oh yeah.."Gina", so I guess that makes four....
Anyway, Nikki suffered from split personalities. Jessica (the one with all the powers) emerged first and Gina was shown in the Heroes episode "Four Months Ago...".
Nikki/Jessica possessed enhanced strength and increased physical durability.
And Jessica possessed a mean streak a mile wide.

Jessica Sanders

Unlike most of the other Heroes, Nikki was given her powers by Dr. Zimmerman.
Nikki's final episode was "Powerless".

Tracy Strauss

And that leads us to Tracy Strauss, Tracy is the triplet sister of Nikki.
Triplet?
Okay...there's another sister Barbara.
So that brings Ali up to five roles.
That's assuming Barbara and Tracy don't have split personalities.

Anyway, Tracy has the ability to freeze anything that she touches.
Or in fancier terms,she can reduce the kinetic energy of atoms and thus reduce temperature.

And if the writers ever get tired of Tracy, they always have Barbara.....
She hasn't been shown physically on the series (that we know of).

Tawny Cypress / Simone Deveaux / Heroes

Simone Deveaux was a character from the first season of the NBC TV series Heroes.
She was played by Tawny Cypress.

Simone was the romantic interest/ art dealer of the pre-cog painter Isaac Mendez.
And she was part of the love triangle involving her, Issac and Peter Petrelli.
Simone had problems with Issac because of his behavior, and him claiming to be able to paint the future.
Their issues never really got resolved because she was gunned down by Issac, who was shooting at an invisible Peter.
Even though she was taken out by a stray bullet, she did show back up in the first season's finale, "How to Stop an Exploding Man", in a flashback role.

The character of Simone Deveaux was originally a bohemian white woman named Stella. But when Ali Larter got the role of Niki Sanders, the character of Stella was changed from a bohemian to an art dealer, her name was changed to Simone Deveaux and Tawny stepped into the role.

Interestingly, Tawny's older brother Toby Cypress is a comic book artist ( he graduated from The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon, and Graphic Art in 1997).
He was the artist on Batman: Gotham Knights (2000), Batman/Nightwing: Bloodborne (2002) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: N-Vector (2000) among others.

Dana Davis / Monica Dawson / Heroes

Monica Dawson was a character on the NBC TV show Heroes played by Dana Davis.
Monica was one of the onslaught of characters added to the show in the second season.
Even though she hasn't shown up in the third season, some scenes with her were filmed but got cut.
The cut scenes will be included in the third season DVD.
Monica's power is adoptive muscle memory, or photographic reflexes, allowing her to replicate any physical motion she witnesses without having to practice it.
This is very similar to the Taskmaster in the Marvel Universe.
I wonder if Monica will eventually show up as St. Joan from 9th Wonders! ?

Kristen Bell / Elle Bishop / Heroes

Continuing on with NBC's Heroes we have Elle Bishop, played by the beautiful Kristen Bell.
Okay, everyone knows Kristen I think. Her internet fanbase, as far as I can tell, is large and very vocal.
And even though Veronica Mars was only on from September 2004 to May 2007 a lot of you out there loved it.
I haven't seen it myself, I'm gonna wait and watch all the episodes back to back this summer I think.
Anyway, Elle Bishop was the mentally unstable (crazy but cute) young lady with the ability to generate and manipulate electricity, discharging and directing it as electrical bolts.
She was the daughter of Bob Bishop (Stephen Tobolowsky).
Sadly Elle is no longer with us thanks to Sylar.
He did away with both her and her father.
But even though Kristen isn't on Heroes anymore, you can still "hear" her as the narrator on The CW's Gossip Girl.

On the show she's engaged to "Captain Awesome", Dr. Devon Woodcomb.

The lady that plays her is Sarah Beth Lancaster.
She was born on February 12, 1980 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Sarah played Rachel in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Madison Kellner on Everwood and Lisa the Gift-Shop Girl on NBC's Scrubs before Chuck.

Vanessa Hudgens in Twilight Sequel?

Vanessa Hudgens is being considered for the role of Leah Clearwater (a female werewolf) in "New Moon" the sequel to "Twilight".
Work is supposed to begin on the movie in March, and it should hit the theatres in November.

The New York Daily News reported yesterday that celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony would separate, and that the split would be made public onstage at Marc’s show on Feb. 14 at Madison Square Garden.

Why would you announce a separation on Valentine's Day?
Why would you do it at Madison Square Garden?
Leslie Zelnik told E! News that the rumors were false.
I'm inclined to believe her.
But technically the story was “Marc and Jennifer are planning on announcing their divorce right after Marc’s show at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 14,”

Well she did date Joe Jonas and the song "Forever and Always" was written by Taylor about Joe Jonas. So there's no accounting for taste.
However, the New York Times said that Taylor "is more in touch with her inner life than most adults" so you have to give the young lady some credit.
On November 11, 2008 she released her latest album "Fearless" and the lead single off the album "Love Story" has become her highest Hot 100 hit on Billboards charts.

Vanessa Marcil was born October 15, 1968 in Indio, California. She is an American actress known for her roles in the long-running soap opera General Hospital, Gina on Beverly Hills 90210 and the tv series Las Vegas.

Vanessa acted in a number of theatre productions before landing the role of Brenda Barrett on the soap opera General Hospital in 1992.
